What a visit here leaves behind

Nichefit has no accounts, no forms and no mailing list, so most of a privacy policy does not apply. This page says what is actually true of this site.

Nothing is collected from you directly

There is no sign-up, no login, no newsletter, no comment box and no download that asks for an address. Nichefit therefore holds no name, email address, phone number or payment detail belonging to any visitor, because there is no mechanism on the site capable of receiving one.

If you email [email protected], we obviously have your message and your address — that is how email works. Those messages are kept while a correction is being made and deleted afterwards, and they are never added to any list, because there is no list.

What the server records

Like any web server, ours writes an access log: the page requested, the time, a browser user-agent string and an IP address. Those records exist to keep the site up and to notice when something is broken or being scraped, they are not joined to anything else, and they are not sold or shared with advertisers.

Nichefit runs no advertising network, no session-recording tool, no heat mapping and no cross-site pixel.

Cookies

Once analytics is allowed, Google Analytics 4 stores two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_<ID>, which last up to 2 years; until then there are none. Your answer to the consent banner is kept in local storage under analytics-consent rather than in a cookie. There is no advertising identifier and no other preference store.

Fonts are served from this site rather than from a font network, and the illustrations are files on this domain, so loading them does not hand a third party a record of your visit. Google Analytics, below, is the one exception, and only when analytics is allowed.

Google Analytics

Nichefit uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC and Google Ireland Ltd., to measure which pages are read. It records the pages viewed, the referring site, approximate location to city or country level, device and browser type, and session timing. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are off, so the data is not used for advertising, and it is not sold.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland a banner asks first, and nothing is sent to Google unless you click Accept. Outside those countries analytics is on by default and you can turn it off at any time. A browser sending the Global Privacy Control signal is treated as opted out. Cookie settings reopens the banner whenever you want to change your answer.

Google's privacy policy covers its side of the arrangement, and Google's opt-out add-on blocks Google Analytics on every site.

Some links here point at /go/ followed by a vendor's name. That address is a redirect on this server: it forwards your browser to the vendor and, once a partner arrangement exists, appends the tag that lets that vendor tell them the visit came from Nichefit. It passes nothing about you, because it has nothing about you to pass.

From the moment you land on the vendor's site, that vendor's own privacy policy and cookies apply, not ours. Which links are partner links and which are not is set out on the disclosure page.

Your rights, and how to use them

Rights to access, correct or erase personal data are only exercisable against data that exists. For ordinary visitors, Nichefit holds no name, email address or account, and the analytics above is not linked to any of them — so there is nothing to export under your name. To stop the analytics, use the cookie settings. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence removed, ask at the same address and it will be.

Nichefit is an independent publication, not a vendor, a reseller or a data broker, and it has no commercial interest in knowing who reads it. That is the shortest honest summary of this page.
